Norwich and the beautiful surrounding countryside and coastline are home to many magical Christmas events and festive cheer each winter.

This year has been unlike any other, fortunately there are still plenty of activities which can be enjoyed safely. We have collated a selection of Christmas fun for your visit this December.

Many events are set to take place after 2 December 2020 when lockdown is due to lift. Please check ahead directly with the organisers and venues to ensure the events are still going ahead.

A Christmas adventure down Norwich's Elm Hill

Visit the setting of Netflix epic - Jingle Jangle
Elm Hill, Norwich

Norwich takes centre stage in Netflix's new star-studded Christmas tale; Jingle Jangle: A Christmas Adventure. The oldest and most complete medieval street in Norwich, Elm Hill, is transformed into the magical city of Cobbleton with performances from academy award winners, Forrest Whittaker and John Legend.

Elm Hill's cobbled lanes, Tudor buildings and Merchant’s house make it a magical location for a wintery stroll during your stay. See if you can recognise the movie locations and indulge in a spot of Christmas shopping once the lockdown restrictions have ended.

Grey Seal Pups

Visiting Norwich this Christmas? Then a trip to see the seals at the coast is a must as winter time is grey seal pup season! As the largest colony in England, numbers in Norfolk can reach around 2500 pups.

The best way to safely enjoy the seals is by boat. Extremely inquisitive, the seals often pop up and swim around the boats, a great way for all to experience the natural world. Trips will be running regularly from Morston Quay during the December and January. All providers have implemented Covid-safe precautions which means limited numbers so remember to book ahead!
